FAMILY
Family is everything. The Tippits know that as well as anyone. Over the years and the many generations, the Tippits have endured tremendous hardships, experienced great joys, and turned to one another for friendship and comfort. The close family bond they've nurtured from generation to generation epitomizes one of the enduring qualities of the American pioneer spirit.
The history of the Tippit family in America is history of the country itself - from the earliest of the colonial settlers in Virginia, through the Revolutionary and Civil Wars, to the expansion and settlement of the southwest. This is their story. A story of the true pioneers.
Many thanks to all those who assisted in assembling the genealogical history of the Tippit family, particularly Steven W. Myers, genealogist, historian and retired manager of the genealogy department of the Allen County Public Library, Fort Wayne, Indiana, for his most valuable assistance in collecting the earliest of historic records, and Jack Christopher, whose personal family ledger was a tremendous asset in documenting the life and times of the Tippit family in Texas.
